Our Backyard WA was started by Katharina Rocksien and Ingrid Sealey in early 2019 to showcase illustrations of the beautiful flora and fauna of Western Australia.
This A1 poster calendar, together with its 32 page handbook full of detailed wildlife illustrations and information is intended to be a resource to invite children and adults to explore and connect with our beautiful country in the context of the six Noongar seasons. The six season calendar is extremely important to Noongar people, as it is a guide to what nature is doing at every stage of the year, as well as respecting the plant and animal fertility cycles and land and animal preservation.
Although primarily designed with city folk in mind, we hope that anyone, wherever they live in the Southwest or elsewhere, can take pleasure in using this set.
